BOTANICAL ART FOR THE HEART & HOME

Art and nature are two very diverse and stimulating pleasures that help us connect with our inner thoughts, emotions and wellbeing. My botanical paintings are all inspired by nature, intuitively abstract with non realist plant forms, using mixed media, collage, pattern, mark making and written word. Each of my paintings soothes the eye with a harmonious blend of colours found within nature. The layering process draws you in to the detail, connecting you to a calming fusion of art and nature to enjoy within your own living space.

Original paintings and prints can really add to your home decor, as well as adding some personality to your living space.  A unique focal point is a great way to provoke thought and conversation as well as emotions and appreciation.

There’s something special and satisfying about becoming an art collector and owning art that’s one of a kind or of a limited quantity.

When you buy something from an artist, your buying more than an object. You’re buying hundreds of hours of errors, experimentation, discovery and moments of pure joy. You are not buying just an image, you are buying a piece of a heart, a piece of their soul. A small piece of someone else’s life.

ALCEMI (Welsh translation)  

Definition: The art of transformation, inner liberation and change, exploring with experimental curiosity. Taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary with awareness and careful observation, sometimes in a way that cannot be explained.

Alchemists across different cultures experimented with lead and base metals to ultimately create the desirable metal gold.

WHY ALCEMI ART?

My painting process stirs up  it’s own creative Alcemi with often unpredictable outcomes and new discoveries!                                

I have always loved the colour and quality of gold. I find  the richness and the reflective beauty so appealing. That’s why gold is a favoured feature which can be found within the layers of my paintings.
