vagabond series

This series was created to showcase the often unwanted, overlooked, outcast and undercelebrated botanical forms found within the wild weed world. I wanted to celebrate their beautiful forms along with their resilience with where and how they grow, regardless of the weather or their surroundings, they show up year after year and thrive in adversity.

I wanted to create botanical compositions displaying both fusion and contrast, showing the creative tension between the orderly, structured background pattern and the natural organic flow and form of these wonderful wild weeds.

I have chosen weeds that I particularly love and often see around me when I go for walks in woodlands, country lanes or urban areas. All 4 paintings are painted on wooden panels, with acrylic, watercolour and gold linework outlining the forms.

Paintings are framed in a deep matt green floating frame with subtle gold line edging to compliment the paintings.The side of the panels have a peekaboo gold leaf edge to add an extra bit of luxury to the paintings.
